As for me, I'm snuggled up on the couch, under an afghan, laptop where it belongs--on my lap, with Roxie curled up at my feet. I'm next to a big picture window that overlooks my backyard and it's been better than anything I could have watched on TV. The snow hasn't stopped since I first woke up at 7am, but the temperature is rising, so the snow that accumulated is melting, and the snow that is falling now just turns to a wet slush. In the early morning hours, the child in me (which is still very much alive!) made a little snowman...
He was introduced to the world on facebook and received a very warm reception. Maybe too warm, because here is what he looks like now:
A call went out on facebook this morning for snow ice cream recipes. There were some good ones, but I don't know if I can find enough "clean" snow to make any...
Snow days are wonderful excuses to do nothing. I alternately read the blook we'll be discussing at our bookclub on Monday, cruised facebook to see what other friends were doing with their newfound time, and watched the wonder of the snow in my backyard. It's like a gift...best not to go anywhere if you can avoid it because of the "treacherous" roads!
I usually volunteer at the MS Museum of Art on Friday afternoons, but the museum is closed too. I have to admit, I wasn't disappointed, although it would have been fun to see the Jim Henson exhibit again (if you haven't seen it, GO!!!! Talk about waking up the kid inside...that will do it for sure!).
And now, for your reading pleasure, I'd like to relay a little story I shared on facebook yesterday that got a HUGE response:
I was feeling pretty prissy today, all dressed up for an important luncheon with the Madison County Business League. Stopped by View Gallery afterwards, then to Kroger, where I ran into lots of people I know. Got home and realized my cute Carol Little top was on INSIDE OUT, with the tag just flapping in the breeze just below my neck. Thanks everyone, for not telling me...
I guess it got such a big response because EVERYONE has done something similar at one time or another...which is what makes us all so human. I read some hilarious stories...and I thank everyone for sharing!
This afternoon I'm tackling my office. I did make some headway this week...I'm taking every single thing out of it...even the pictures on the walls, and starting over. I've been hauling stuff out and it's all over the den. Still tons more to remove. Surely a big portion of that can be trashed...This is a huge undertaking. I'll take pictures and keep you posted! (Because I'm certain you are dying to know the details!)

Is it snowing where you are, and if so, what are you doing on your snow day? AND...have you ever had any fashion faux pas similar to mine? If so, what were they and what did you do? I am looking forward to reading your responses!
Blessings to all who read this!

Hahaha Shortly after my sweet grandson was born in Oct. I went shopping at the mall with a burpee cloth draped over my shoulder!! I had stopped at their house for a quick visit to hold him and it was feeding time so Grandma volunteered.... after he went to sleep I went on my way to do a few errands...when I got home and looked in the mirror there was the burpee cloth...bright yellow with a little duckee on it...clean I might add...worn like a badge of honor...announcing to the world: I AM A NEW GRANDMA!! Obviously no one cared because no one said anything.
ReplyDeleteI love your snow story as well. It's 18 degrees here today and I saw a couple people wearing shorts and our streets are melting and messy. The snow is piled so high you can't see around the corners and have to sneak out slowly to see if there are any cars coming. Love love love your snowman. :o) waiting for office pics...
